Reverend Gerald Davis to TUMC!

I must admit it grieves me to see our time together end this way. Since coming to you in May as

your interim pastor, I’ve been blessed by your faithfulness and mutual love for one another.

encourage you to continue in your connections with one another. May God bless you all during a

time of pause and transition, allowing the Holy Spirit to bring forth new beginnings and fresh

opportunities to live in Christian love.

Grace and Peace, Gerald

And from Preacher Mike:

I think of you all often and have been praying unceasingly for TUMC.  Below is some of the result of the blessing you all gave Lauralee and me.  The bridge and the new bank rip-rap is the neighborhood project.  I'm sending a second email showing the mitigation of an ox-bow and cliff like bank that Lauralee and I did with y'all's help.

God is with us! - Mike

Wish You Were Here: A Novel. By Picoult Jodi.

A deeply moving novel about the resilience of the human spirit in a moment of crisis.

Diana O'Toole is perfectly on track. She will be married by thirty, done having kids by thirty-five, and move out to the New York City suburbs, all while climbing the professional ladder in the cutthroat art auction world. She's not engaged just yet, but she knows her boyfriend,] Finn, a surgical resident, is about to propose on their romantic getaway to the Galápagos—

days before her thirtieth birthday. Right on time.

But then a virus that felt worlds away has appeared in the city, and on the eve of their departure

, Finn breaks the news: It's all hands on deck at the hospital. He has to stay behind. You should still go,

he assures her, since it would be a shame for all of their nonrefundable trip to go to waste. And so, reluctantly, she goes.

Almost immediately, Diana's dream vacation goes awry. The whole island is now under quarantine, and she is stranded until the borders reopen. Completely isolated, she must venture eyond her comfort zone. Slowly, she carves out a connection

with a local family when a teenager with a secret opens up to Diana, despite heor father's suspicion of outsiders.

Diana finds herself examining her relationships, her choices, and herself—and wondering if when she

goes home, she too will have evolved into someone completely different.

Here’s to the bridge-builders, the hand-holders, the light-bringers, those extraordinary souls wrapped in ordinary lives who quietly weave threads of humanity into an inhumane world.  They are the unsung heroes in a world at war with itself.  They are the whisperers of hope that peace is possible.

Look for them in this present darkness. Light your candle with their flame.

And then go. Build bridges. Hold hands.  Bring light to a dark and desperate world.

Be the hero you are looking for. Peace is possible.  It begins with us.

                                                                                                      ~L. R. Knost~

Jesus said to them, “The light is with you for a little longer. Walk while you have the light, lest the darkness overtake you; he who walks in the darkness does not know where he goes. 36 While you have the light, believe in the light, that you may become sons of light.”
